Incident Description:
On January 31, 2022, Feed & Grain reported a grain dryer fire at an agricultural cooperative in Rugby, North Dakota.
At the time of the fire, soybeans were being dried in the elevator. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to the dryer, and had to drain 4,500 bushels of grain to put it out. Six hours were needed to completely put out the fire.
The site manager said that the fire-damaged dryer was out of commission, but there were smaller dryers in the elevator that had not been damaged, so operations were nearly back to normal.
No injuries were reported.
