Incident Description:
On January 20, 2022, KIWA Radio reported a fire at an agribusiness in Rock Valley, Iowa.
The Rock Valley Fire Department was called to the report of a dryer fire at the location at around 3:25 p.m. Firefighters saw light smoke coming from the dryer as they approached the scene. Upon investigating, they found some hot spots but no flames.
The fire department was assisted by the Hull Fire Department and the Sioux Center Fire Department, which provided help with its aerial truck. After draining 4000 bushels of corn from the dryer and spreading it on the ground, they put the fire out.
No injuries were reported.
