Incident Description:
On December 12, 2021, Yahoo News reported a fire in a sawdust bin at a specialty wood products company in Kingfield, Maine.
At 11:21 a.m., Carrabassett Valley, New Vineyard, New Portland, and Strong fire departments responded to assist Kingfield with the fire.
The bin was located outside the plant in a separate building and connected to a boiler that provided steam. Firefighters dug through the sawdust to make sure the fire was out.
In spite of the fire being extinguished using water and foam, the mill and storage building did not suffer any damage. Firefighters cleared the scene at 2:00 p.m.
No injuries were reported.
