Incident Description:
On December 10, 2021, the Winchester Star reported a dust collector fire at a public high school in Winchester, Virginia.
The fire was called in at 12:32 p.m. The Frederick County Fire Chief said it started in a dust collector in the woodshop and smoke spread to an air conditioning duct. Firefighters had it under control and all smoke cleared by 1:00 p.m.
The students were evacuated to the stadium, and no one was injured. The following day, the Winchester Star reported that one adult was treated at the scene but declined to be hospitalized, and property damage was estimated at $250,000.
