Incident Description:
On December 8, 2021, AuburnPub reported a dryer fire at a farm in Cato, New York.
The call came in at 2:28 p.m. The dryer, which is part of the large grain silo, was initially engulfed in flames, but firefighters quickly extinguished the fire. Visible fire damage was largely limited to the dryer.
Cato, Weedsport, Ira, Conquest, Jordan, Baldwinsville, Lysander, Plainville, Sennett, Throop, and Red Creek all assisted, as did Cody Volunteer Fire Department, Cayuga County Coordinators, and CIMVAC Ambulance.
No injuries were reported.
