Incident Description:
On December 1, 2021, the Chattanoogan reported a fire at a brake drum manufacturer in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Several Blue Shift companies were called to the scene at 8:50 a.m. and found smoke issuing from the structure when they arrived. The dust collector caught fire when something ignited in the exhaust.
Firefighters used a hand line from the bucket to cool the dust collector down, then used the master stream to saturate it with water. Crews spent some time saturating the smouldering material with water to ensure it was fully extinguished.
No injuries were reported.
