Incident Description:
On November 16, 2021, the Republican Eagle reported a grain bin fire at an agricultural business in Red Wing, Minnesota.
Firefighters received the call at 7:26 a.m. on November 15. When they arrived, they found fire inside a cement grain bin containing flaxseed, and accessed the flames from the top of the bin. Five hours later, the fire was out.
One firefighter was injured and transported to a hospital with minor injuries. The grain bin suffered no structural damage. However, the remaining grain in the affected bin has been damaged by water, fire, and smoke.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
