On October 25, 2021, the Kelowna Capital News reported a fire at a chrome bumper manufacturer in Kelowna, British Columbia.
The smoke was first spotted just after 1:30 p.m. Two trucks from West Kelowna Fire Rescue responded. Arriving fire crews saw smoke coming from the building.
According to the Assistant Fire Chief, metal shavings in a dust collection bin ignited when they became extremely hot. Employees put out the flames quickly so firefighters ventilated the building.
The building and dust collector suffered some smoke damage, but no injuries were reported.
