Incident Description:
On October 14, 2021, CBC reported a feed tower fire at an agricultural cooperative in Lidderdale, Iowa.
The Lidderdale and Carroll Fire Departments were dispatched at approximately 9:53 a.m. for a fire at the site’s 140-foot-high pellet mill. The Lidderdale Fire Chief said firefighters had to climb more than a dozen flights of stairs to extinguish the fire.
Damage was contained to the interior of the building, and the facility director stated that production would be transferred to one of their other five facilities.
No injuries were reported.
