Incident Description:
On October 5, 2921, Feed and Grain reported a fire in a below-ground grain silo at the Port of Vancouver in Vancouver, Washington.
Firefighters were dispatched to the scene after maintenance workers called 911 after being unable to control the fire. As firefighters investigated, workers told them that welding sparks fell into a grain storage area as they were performing maintenance.
Since smoke was detected throughout the building and grain elevator, the Hazardous Materials Team was brought in to monitor the air and check for extension.
No injuries were reported.
