Incident Description:
On September 25, 2021, Maalaimalar reported a fire at a yarn mill in Erode, India.
At around 2:45 a.m., black smoke suddenly appeared in bundles of yarn placed in the godown. When employees tried and failed to put it out, they alerted the Erode fire station and the police. Over 20 firefighters hurried to the site in two vehicles and managed to extinguish the flames after two hours.
According to the fire department, the fire may have been caused by an electrical leak.
No injuries were reported. Goods valued at Rs 30 lakh were damaged.
