On September 23, 2021, WBAY reported a machine fire at a biofuel production facility in Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Fire crews were called to the plant at 12:30 a.m. Firefighters noticed smoke coming from an exterior dust collection system and put out the fire in the machine. When outside crews saw that flames had spread to the roof, they cut it open around the dust collection ducts and put out the fire.
The firefighters remained on scene for 90 minutes to check for hot spots and ventilate the building.
The estimated damage cost was $40,000. No injuries were reported.
