On March 8, 2023, G1 Globo reported explosions and a fire at a toothpick manufacturer in Nova Ponte, Brazil.
Two explosions occurred followed by a fire. Twenty firefighters arrived with two water trucks to extinguish the flames, which were in a 20-metre-high storage silo. It was located on another structure, this one also 20 metres tall.
According to firefighters, the flames were soon under control. No injuries were reported.
