Incident Description:
On March 12, 2019, WBOC 16 reported a fire at a lumber company in Snow Hill, Maryland.
The Snow Hill Volunteer Fire Chief said that it started as a controlled burn but soon spread to a sawdust shed. It took seven fire companies and 47 firefighters nearly two and a half hours to get the fire under control because heavy winds and the presence of combustible lumber made things difficult.
No injuries were reported but the sawdust shed was described as a total loss.
The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the fire.
