Incident Description:
On April 2, 2022, SCC10 reported a fire at a door and window factory in Lages, Brazil.
Upon arriving at the scene, the Fire Department found the 360 m2 shed in flames with approximately half of its area engulfed in flames, and part of the roof had already collapsed.
Based on the evaluation, two lines of attack were launched, one to deal with the factory and another to protect the neighbouring buildings.
The fire was difficult to fight because of the large amounts of wood and sawdust on site, as well as due to the fact that the fire weakened the roof structure. Approximately 20,000 gallons of water were used in the fight and cleanup, which took around three hours in total.
No injuries were reported.
