Incident Description:
On December 26, 2019, News.Com.Au reported a fire at the woodchip plant at Geelong Port in Geelong, Australia.
The fire ignited after mulch caught alight on December 25th and quickly burned out of control. 19 fire engines were called to the scene and spent hours fighting the fire.
Authorities, who worried that it would burn for days, warned area residents of very poor air quality and flying embers. People were also advised to stay inside and avoid nearby roads so that emergency vehicles could have easy access to the site.
No injuries were reported.
