Incident Description:
On August 9, 2020, TB Newswatch reported a smouldering fire at a grain elevator in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Six pumpers and one aerial ladder from the Thunder Bay Fire Department were dispatched to the scene after being alerted at around 11:30 a.m. Firefighters found light to moderate smoke, but no flames. They were still on the scene at 4:00 p.m.
A worker at the elevator had effectively contained the fire by activating an emergency stop upon noticing it. The building was then immediately evacuated.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
