Incident Description:
On June 11, 2019, Firehouse reported a fire in a grain silo at a grain processing facility in Houston, Texas.
When firefighters arrived at around 9:00 p.m., they found the top of the grain silo on fire and pulled a second alarm, which drew a response from several other departments, including the Houston Fire Department.
Four firefighters were sent to the hospital for heat exhaustion while three others were treated on scene and released. One of the injured firefighters also suffered smoke inhalation was briefly hospitalized.
Arson investigators with the fire marshal’s office determined that the fire was started when a conveyor belt that burned out. There was no information about property damage.
