On September 2, 2020, the Index-Journal reported a storage silo fire at a pet food plant in Hodges, South Carolina.
The Greenwood County Fire Chief said that the fire sparked inside the silo and damage was mostly contained to the product stored there. The facility’s fire suppression systems put the fire out.
When firefighters arrived on scene, they verified the fire was out and that the sprinkler system was reset properly. No injuries were reported.
