On January 6, 2023, SWR reported a fire at a sawmill in Giesdorf, Germany.
According to the police, the sawmill caught fire around 11:00 p.m. There was no way to save the machines in the burning production hall. The fire was then quickly extinguished by the fire department. A fire station was set up. At times, 60 firefighters were deployed.
No injuries were reported. An initial estimate by the police put the damage to property at about a million euros.
