On April 24, 2023, WDSU News reported a fire at a sawmill in Bogalusa, Louisiana.
More than 100 firefighters from about 15 different districts responded to the call. Although the fire was under control by early morning, firefighters remained on the scene as the fire continued to rekindle.
The sawmill, one of the biggest employers in the Bogalusa area, released a statement expressing uncertainty about how the fire would impact production. The facility employs 135 people, and the fire has left many wondering about the status of their jobs.
No injuries were reported.
