Incident Description:
On July 13, 2022, the Chronicle reported a fire at a furniture manufacturer in Orleans, Vermont.
It ignited in a sawdust silo. Orleans firefighters used their department’s platform truck to get above the silos and pour water on it. The Newport City Fire Department brought its platform truck to assist in quenching the fire, as did members of the Irasburg Fire Department. It appeared that the fire was contained within the silos and did not threaten the rest of the furniture factory.
No injuries were reported. The cause is under investigation.
