Incident Description:
On January 29, 2019, Virginia First reported a fire at a coffee house in Salem, Virginia.
Firefighters arrived soon after 3:00 p.m. and located the fire in the coffee bean roaster’s exhaust pipe. Beans had been trapped in the grinder and burned, creating smoke that billowed onto Main Street. They removed the exhaust pipe and cleaned away the remaining burnt beans.
According to the Roanoke Times, everyone present in the coffee shop was evacuated. There were no injuries.
