Incident Description:
On July 22, 2019, WCTV reported a July 21 fire at a wood chip mill in Quitman, Georgia.
The Brooks County Fire Department responded after a call came in at around 11:55 a.m. Arriving firefighters found smoke issuing from various locations throughout the mill and determined the fire had been burning for a while before someone called 911.
The fire was put out and remaining hot spots were extinguished by around 4:48 p.m.
No injuries were reported, but the mill suffered severe damage. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
