Incident Description:
On June 8, 2019, the Washington Times reported a fire at a coal-burning power plant in Pensacola, Florida.
A spokeswoman for Escambia County confirmed that the fire started in a coal silo early in the morning. It took firefighters nearly three hours to extinguish the flames, and one fireman suffered a broken arm. There were no other injuries.
The fire did not damage the silo and was not expected to affect power to customers. Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
