The company’s roots can be traced back to the Napa Valley of California, where, in 1883, the Toulouse & Delorieux Co. manufactured presses, crushers, and stemmers for winemakers. The company created the first pellet mill, the 30 HP Flat Bed with a stationary flat die, in 1931 and became California Pellet Mill.
Incident Description:
On April 4, 2022, KWWL reported a fire at a pellet mill manufacturing facility in Waterloo, Iowa.
According to Waterloo Fire Rescue, a hopper holding ground-up corn husks caught fire. Fire crews were called around 9:30 a.m. They emptied the hopper and sprayed it with water.
The road leading into the mill was blocked while crews were on the scene.
No injuries were reported.
