Incident Description:
On March 30, 2020, VC Star reported a fire in a portion of a bathroom tissue manufacturing plant in Oxnard, California.
The fire was reported at 1:42 a.m. More than 50 firefighters responded. They knocked down most of the flames by 2:31 a.m. and it was declared out by 4:00 a.m., after small pockets of fire in the duct system had been extinguished.
No injuries were reported. Fire officials estimated that less than 10% of the plant had been affected by the fire. The cause is under investigation.
OSHA Inspections:
An establishment search turned up one OSHA inspection for the Oxnard location dated July 19, 2019, but it was not flagged for combustible dust.
