Incident Description:
On March 18, 2019, Pulp & Paper Canada reported a fire at a paper products company in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
Firefighters were called shortly after 3:00 a.m. on March 17. Security staff guided them to the fire, which started in a paper machine after a bearing failure and spread to the ventilation system. Mill employees had already gotten it under control, so the fire crews assisted them in completely extinguishing the fire.
No injuries were reported.
