Incident Description:
On August 5, 2022, the Times Record reported a fire at a metal recycling facility in Topsham, Maine.
The Topsham Deputy Fire Chief said crews spent four hours on the scene extinguishing the fire, which broke out in a pile of metal shavings. Topsham firefighters were assisted by Durham, Brunswick, Bowdoin, Bowdoinham, Lisbon, West Bath and Wales fire departments. Thirty-six firefighters responded to the scene, and no injuries were reported.
Conveyor belts and other equipment valued at $1,000 were destroyed in the fire. The cause is unknown.
