Incident Description:
On April 11, 2022, WWJ 950 reported a dust collector fire at a stamping plant in Van Buren Township, Michigan.
Sparks flew into a dust collection bin at around 4:00 a.m., causing a fire in the plant. All of the overnight workers were able to escape the building safely.
Fire crews from Canton, Romulus and Ypsilanti Township arrived on the scene to assist the Van Buren Fire Department.
The fire caused extensive damage inside the plant, but no injuries were reported.
