Incident Description:
On August 3, 2022, MDR.de reported a deflagration at a metal processing company in Sehmatal, Germany.
Aluminum dust deflagrated during grinding work on aluminum parts, the police said. This led to a fire in the company’s warehouse. The 66-year-old operator of the grinding machine was seriously injured after reportedly trying to put out the fire himself. He suffered burns and smoke inhalation. Four other people were slightly injured due to smoke inhalation.
According to the police, the fire went out by itself. 155 firefighters were on duty. The exact cause of the fire and the extent of the property damage are unknown.
