Incident Description:
On April 14, 2020, NWI Times reported a structural fire at a steel mill in Gary, Indiana.
The magnesium fire occurred at around 6:30 a.m. Plant emergency services were able to contain and extinguish the fire with help from the Gary Fire Department.
No injuries were reported and production was not impacted.
OSHA Inspections:
An establishment search turned up two OSHA inspections for the Gary location, but they were not flagged for combustible dust.
