On November 13, 2019, Powder & Bulk Solids reported an explosion and fire at a packaging products company in Hickory, North Carolina.
Firefighters were called to the scene at about 8:00 a.m. Their efforts were assisted by the building’s sprinkler system. The fire was out by 8:30 a.m.
Officials told reporters that a grinding machine was involved in the explosion.
Workers were forced to evacuate the plant. One worker was injured and required EMS treatment.
