Incident Description:
On June 2, 2021, the Trinity Journal reported a fire at a lumber company in Weaverville, California.
Firefighters were called to the scene at around 6:24 p.m. and observed that the fire was between the rip saw and the scalers shack. They spent around 90 minutes putting it out with assistance from the mill’s fire sprinkler system. The cause is believed to be an electrical short that caused some sawdust to ignite.
The scaler’s shack experienced moderate damage. No injuries were reported.
