Incident Description:
On October 13, 2023, France Bleu reported a fire at a dog food company in Pléchâtel, France.
On October 12, the fire brigade responded to a fire report at approximately 3:30 p.m. It originated in the grinder of a silo. A total of 66 firefighters were called in and the fire was successfully brought under control by around 7:45 p.m.
The incident led to smoke affecting two nearby factories, and there were disruptions to both the TGV and the nearby SNCF rail line due to the smoke release. Fortunately, the factory did not experience any work stoppages, and employees were expected to resume their activities on October 13.
No injuries were reported.
