Description of Wood Shaving Fire:
On July 13, 2018, WTVA reported a fire at a wood shaving plant in Shuqualak, Mississippi. A video on the news agency’s site shows a large elevated hopper, which is used to store pine shaving for horse barns, on fire.
Fire crews arrived at around 11:00 p.m. and the fire was out by midnight. There are no reports of any injuries but company representatives said that the heat from the fire caused some damage to the plant operations.
