Incident Description:
On April 21, 2023, the Herald & Review reported an explosion at a grain processing plant in Decatur, Illinois.
The Decatur Fire Department responded to the processing complex at approximately 9:00 p.m. and learned that the explosion occurred in one of the grain elevators, resulting in three workers being injured.
According to the deputy chief, the explosion occurred in the grain processing area. The injured workers were taken to local hospitals, and their conditions are currently unknown.
The cause of the incident is under investigation.

An establishment search turned up seven OSHA inspections for this ADM location, two of which were flagged for combustible dust.
