Incident Description:
On January 5, 2021, Feed & Grain reported a fire in a flat grain storage building at an agricultural co-operative in Wapello, Iowa.
Firefighters responded at approximately 12:50 p.m. They saw heavy smoke and flames coming from a pile of corn on the west side of the building, which contained approximately 350,000 bushels of corn.
They removed the corn and suppressed visible flames but returned periodically to extinguish visible flames.
The situation was declared under control on January 2, 2021. No injuries were reported.
