Incident Description:
On July 20, 2022, WILX10 reported a fire in a grain elevator in Charlotte, Michigan.
The Charlotte Fire Department (CFD) was called to the elevator at 2:17 a.m. for a report of a fire in the basement. Crews were on the scene within six minutes, according to CFD officials. They found the fire was contained to a large electric motor and grain dust in the basement of the plant.
A hose line was stretched and, after they quickly knocked the fire down, firefighters ventilated the area and checked for any extension of fire into other areas.
No injuries were reported.
