Incident Description:
On March 21, 2022, KMA Land reported a grain dryer fire at an agribusiness in Red Oak, Iowa.
Red Oak’s Fire Department was dispatched to the scene after 11:00 a.m. On arrival, firefighters found a field fire north of the facility and a fire on the northeast stack. They commenced aerial operations to extinguish the outside dryer stack fire and combated the field fire.
After confirming that the fire was contained to the facility’s exterior, firefighters put out the flames without incident. Ground operations were suspended shortly after 1:00 p.m.
Employees were evacuated safely. No injuries were reported.
