On November 1, 2023, Maville reported a fire at an agribusiness in Quimperlé, France.
Shortly after 1:00 a.m., a fire erupted in a corn dryer containing 120 tons of corn. It is suspected that the combustion of corn dust during the drying process caused the fire.
Fire crews responded at around 1:10 a.m. Approximately forty firefighters were dispatched to the scene, including teams from Quimperlé, Moëlan-sur-Mer, Bannalec, and Quimper. The operation concluded around 7:00 a.m.
No injuries were reported, but a total of 40 tons of corn were lost in the fire.
