Incident Description:
On April 1, 2019, the Mansfield News Journal reported a fire at a grain elevator in Mansfield, Ohio.
Firefighters located the fire in a grain dryer, which contained soybeans and was smoking heavily. After extinguishing it by taking the fire hose near the top platform, they emptied the dryer, dumped out the contents, and put out smoldering grain.
The Fire Chief said that the grain became too hot, possibly because of a dryer malfunction.
No injuries were reported.
