Incident Description:
On October 18, 2022, Yahoo Taiwan reported a fire at a furniture factory in Taichung City, Taiwan.
The Taichung City Fire Department dispatched 23 fire trucks and more than 70 firefighters to fight the fire, which was reported at around 4:45 p.m. Due to the accumulation of a large number of flammable materials in the factory building, the fire spread quickly and spread to three adjacent factory buildings.
Although the fire was extinguished within an hour, a plastic injection factory, rubber powder factory, and aluminum grinding and polishing factory were burned, with the burned area exceeding 150 square metres.
Preliminary investigations suggested that employees at the furniture factory were cutting at the time the fire broke out. Property loss was estimated to exceed 100 million yuan.
No injuries were reported.
