On November 7, 2022, the Leader reported a dust explosion and fire at a foam rubber manufacturer in Rhydymwyn, Wales, UK.
The fire broke out around 7:50 a.m. on October 25. It caused a huge plume of smoke that could be seen for several miles across Flintshire. One staff member was taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
North Wales Fire and Rescue fire chiefs investigated the cause of the fire. They stated that the incident started in the granulator and the most probable cause was a dust explosion.
