In the early 1980s, the company converted Unit 2 to a fluidized bed boiler to burn waste wood. Incident Description:
On August 26, 2020, the La Crosse Tribune reported a fire at an energy plant in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
The fire department responded at 5:01 p.m. On arrival, they found smoke coming from the structure and located the fire in the dust collector and adjoining ducts. The fire was successfully extinguished.
No injuries were reported. The dust collector sustained minor smoke and fire damage.
