Incident Description:
On August 21, 2020, KRIS 6 News reported a grain elevator fire at a port in Corpus Christi, Texas.
A dredge hit an underwater natural gas pipeline at about 8:00 a.m. resulting in a huge explosion, sending plumes of black smoke into the air. Six people on the dredge were injured and four were killed.
According to firefighters, the fire that ignited the dredge spread to a nearby grain elevator.
No one was injured in the grain elevator fire.
The National Transportation Safety Board said it will investigate the incident.
