Incident Description:
On March 18, 2019, WAOW reported a fire at a tire recycling facility in Auburndale, Wisconsin.
Several fire departments responded to a fire call at the site shortly after 2:00 a.m. The Auburndale Fire Chief said that a spark in the dust collecting system ignited its contents. Although the fire was difficult to reach, they were able to put it out within a couple of hours.
No one was hurt but employees were evacuated from the building. The Fire Chief confirmed that there was some damage to the dust collector system.
