On October 13, 2019, NBC12 reported a conveyor belt fire at a paper mill in West Point, Virginia.
The West Point Fire Department arrived shortly after 5:40 p.m. and extinguished the fire within 10 minutes of arrival. Video footage confirms that a large cloud of black smoke could be seen for some distance around the plant.
No one was injured, and the amount of property damage is unknown.
