Incident Description:
On July 5, 2022, Bergens Tidende reported a dust explosion at a food production facility in Indre Arna, Norway.
Emergency personnel received the alert at 8:14 p.m. Workers were evacuated, and when firefighters arrived, they found some smoke but no flames. Ten centimetres of water were on the floor of the factory after the sprinkler system was switched on.
The explosion is said to have occurred in a tank. Emergency personnel said that it must have multiplied, most likely due to static electricity. The incident happened in an area where they process the raw materials.
The cause is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
