Incident Description:
On June 21, 2019, the Banner Graphic reported a dust explosion at an ethanol plant in Cloverdale, Indiana.
The explosion occurred at around 12:30 p.m. in the grain-loading facility of the plant. Two truck drivers who were unloading corn were injured and taken to the hospital. They were later released.
When the Cloverdale Township Fire Department arrived, firefighters found only a bit of smouldering fire in the dust collector. The plant general manager confirmed that it was quickly extinguished, but the overall damage was estimated at $1 million.
